Dismantled container cranes

Demolition and deconstruction contractor MNE shipped 1552 tonnes of scrap to our yard in Vlaardingen. The scrap came from two container cranes that were used at a terminal in Sweden and had to be replaced due to having reached the end of their service life.

Originally towering 65 metres and with a length of 80 metres and width of 25 metres, the container cranes were too large to be transported in their entirety by ship, and so these were first dismantled in Sweden.

After dismantling, the remaining scrap was shipped to our yard in Vlaardingen where the containers holding the scrap were lifted one by one from the ship, a task that took MNE about two days. Jansen Recycling Group will be turning the remaining scrap into secondary raw materials.

This is a wonderful project that Jansen Recycling Group has had the privilege of participating in, as well as a fantastic collaborative effort between two parties.
