A more sustainable future with over 4200 solar panels at our site in Dordrecht

We achieved a significant milestone on June 30th with the festive opening of our solar panel project. After months of hard work, we have added an impressive 3816 solar panels to the existing 472 panels at our site in Dordrecht, bringing the total number of solar panels to 4288. This project signifies a crucial step in Jansen Recycling Group’s commitment to sustainability and green energy. In this article, we will delve into the process, impact, and inspiring opening of this project.

The Challenging Process of Renovation and Installation

Installing such a large number of solar panels on the roof of Hall 4 was no easy task. Before the panels could be installed, the roof required thorough renovation. New roof sheets were laid, and the structure was reinforced to accommodate the weight of the panels. This renovation process began in February and took several months to complete. It was an intensive undertaking, but thanks to the dedication and effort of our team, we successfully accomplished the task.

Impact on Sustainability

With all the solar panels at our site in Dordrecht, we generate approximately 1.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This is equivalent to the energy consumption of around 500 households. Jansen Recycling Group is significantly contributing to reducing its CO2 emissions by transitioning to green energy.

Festive Opening on June 30th

To commemorate the official inauguration of the solar panels, we organized a special opening event. Tanja de Jonge, Councillor for Sustainability, Climate, Energy, and Environment of the Municipality of Dordrecht, graced the occasion. Together with our CEO, Klaas Jansen, Councillor de Jonge performed the opening ceremony. Klaas Jansen delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and explaining why Jansen Recycling Group remains dedicated to a greener future. They then counted down together and pressed the red button, officially commissioning the solar panels.

A Green Future

The implementation of this second solar panel project marks Jansen Recycling Group’s commitment to a greener future, with the ultimate goal of becoming fully carbon-neutral in the future. We understand that we have borrowed the world and believe in passing on a green and sustainable planet to future generations. This is how Jansen Recycling Group strives to create the world as it was meant to be.
