Upgrade for main site road in Dordrecht

Over the past 6 weeks, the main site road and the area around the weighbridge at our Dordrecht yard have received an upgrade. These were both in poor condition and it was high time that the asphalt was replaced. KWS took care of the project from start to finish and produced a stunning end result!

The work started on 13 September. First, the asphalt was removed, followed by the street furniture. That was when the real work could start!

First, crushed aggregate was applied, which was followed by the laying of new water pipes that help reduce dust. Next, the crushed aggregate track was surfaced to prepare it for the first asphalting phase.

The asphalting was done in various phases, so that work on the yard could continue as normal. A decision was made, for example, to first repair and reopen one side of the road, and then move on to the other side. Work even continued at night and on Saturdays, so as to minimise the inconvenience caused for suppliers and colleagues.

With the successful end result, we are offering our colleagues a safer and tidier work environment. And it allows us to make life even easier for suppliers with a smooth scrap delivery process.
