Closing the loop

Closing the loop means using ferrous and non-ferrous residual streams as raw materials to create new products within the shortest possible cycle.

Closing
the loop

1. Scrap collection

Ferrous and/or non-ferrous residual streams are collected and transported on time to ensure your production process remains uninterrupted. Full containers are delivered to our yard for processing, either on a scheduled basis or on demand.

2. Weight and quality control

After weighing, the material is unloaded and inspected at our scrap yards in Dordrecht or Vlaardingen. The second weighing determines the net weight, while the inspection establishes the quality forming the basis for your invoice and payment.

3. Recycling of metals

We process nearly all materials in-house. Using a modern fleet of machinery including analytical equipment, cranes, shears, and shredders we cut, shred, and sort scrap. This enables us to produce specific, high-quality grades for smelters and foundries.

4. To the final processor

We sell our material as input material for steel, aluminum, and copper smelters, among others. Depending on market conditions, supply and demand, and the preferences of the supplier, this can be in Europe or Asia.

5. Recycled raw materials

After melting, the secondary raw material becomes a new semi-finished product or end product. The cycle is complete, and valuable resources are preserved. Additionally, significant CO₂ savings are achieved throughout the supply chain compared to the extraction of primary raw materials such as ore.
